Rural life in Kenya remains a chore: families use kerosene for a little light at night; cook on smoky open wood fires; and rely on unsafe water. Products to address some of these problems already exist but are only available in towns and for cash upfront.
Today we sell solar and cooking solutions worth less than $100. All products are made affordable with in-house finance and are delivered to our clients' homes. Our marketing and distribution relies on the network effect by satisfied clients.
We are targeting smallholder families in rural Kenya and in particular the women in the household who are the ones in charge of most chores in the house and would benefit the most from our products.
